Thanksgiving Dinner

Stay Safe and Support the Church
Many people in our Church wear a medical/security alarm and you would never know it.  But, slips, trips and falls are all too common.  So if you would like or need to wear a medical alarm or know somebody who wants one, talk to Shirley Tracy (who herself has one).

Seasons for Growth
This is an education programme which explores the effects of change, loss and grief.  Using the imagery of the four seasons, the programme is a safe and proven way to help people process and adjust to changing experiences.  Bridgett Parkin will run a programme of six weekly sessions, starting on Tuesday 11 October, 6.45 – 9.15 pm, at KAC Church Offices.  Cost $28 for the workbook.  To register or for info contact Bridgett, 934-1811 or baparkin@clear.net.nz.

Ecumenical Healing Service
Healing Service with Fr John Rea. Thursday, 22 September 7.30 pm. Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Hill St, Thorndon.  All welcome, bring those that need healing.

Second hand TV wanted
One of our parishioners needs a tv as his has died and he is in no position to buy another.  If anyone has an old tv they no longer want please contact Gordon in the office.

Kapiti—19 to 23 JANUARY 2017
“Your Love Cries Out. ….because your love is better than life.”  Ps 63

This is our church camp and there is a programme for all ages 0-99!  The Kapiti summer festival is about our community coming together, getting to know one another, laughing, worshipping, becoming equipped for the year ahead where together we seek to see God’s kingdom in our everyday lives.

A Warm Welcome
We welcome the parents and families of the girls from the Girls Club who are with us at the 10.30 service today.  The girls will be taking part in the service.  If you’re aged between 6 and 106 and want to be part of Girls Club, please speak to Lucy or Yvette.

The Whakaahuru Singers seeking more singers
The Whakaahuru Singers sing, by request, at the bedside of people who are receiving palliative care or otherwise approaching the end of life.  Our singing offers comfort and relaxation to patients, a connection with community and a feeling of support which extends to family and caregivers.

The Tower
The certificate of compliance has now been given for the work on the tower.  So we are now officially ‘finished.’  Although this improves the earthquake resilience of the tower the church remains earthquake prone.  Thank you for your support and your financial contributions that have made it possible.
