UPDATE FROM THE VICAR
Dear Parishioner
As you may have already heard that the Diocese has made the call to suspend all services from this Sunday 22 March, until further notice, (there are no services this Sunday). We know some people will be upset by this, but the situation we are in is unprecedented and caution is the obvious way forward.
Please know that the small Lenten study groups, of which we have 13 already operating, is the way ahead for us as a church. The diocese has confirmed this as a recommended approach and have scheduled a meeting which Lent group leaders are all invited to attend via the internet tomorrow. After that meeting I will send out another Vicar update to confirm exactly how that will work for KAC.
Here is the link to the Bishop’s announcement and a short video address from Bishop Eleanor to you all which I thoroughly recommend you watch.

This Sunday 22 March
The diocese is offering to stream a live service this Sunday. Currently it is meant to be at 9 am but please confirm that by accessing the website http://movementonline.org.nz/ closer to Sunday. Bishop Eleanor is also encouraging each of you to sign up and receive the Movement Online updates to stay in touch with the wider communion and you can do that on the same website.
GodZone
All three groups will meet this Sunday 22 March at the usual time of 10.30 am for an hour together to 11.30 am. JAM will meet in the church foyer, Impact in the Activity Lounge (in Smash) and Crossfire in the Prayer Room in the church office. Please go directly to these spaces and your leaders will be ready and waiting! We will have many excellent helpers available, so it’ll be a great time.
Youth
Friday Night Youth Club will take place for the last time until further notice at 7 pm tonight in the Activity Lounge. They too will be configuring into small groups lead by AYM leaders as we go ahead.
Pastoral Care
We are in the process of updating our pastoral register and will be in touch early next week for you to confirm your details for us. We are also creating a church directory to distribute to you all so we can stay in touch with one another more easily. Taking care of one another and our neighbours is going to be a high priority for us all in the coming months and Wendy and myself will be in touch with more details on that early next week.
Manna Ministry Meals
We encourage you to cook a little bit extra and make up some meals for the Manna Ministry freezer. Containers for the meals are available at the office.
Care Homes
All services are cancelled. Essential visits only at Huntleigh, Selwyn Sprott is in lock-down and St John of God is still open daily and waiting on Government advice.
AGM
The Annual General Meeting will not be taking place in the usual way this year. We will let you know how this will take place.
Vestry
Vestry will still meet 23 March at 7.30 pm in the prayer room.
Diocesan Chrism Service on 6 April is cancelled.
God’s peace
Sincerely
Reverend Ian Cook
