New Menu!

Over the Christmas break we have had a new bench installed and a beautiful stair gate to keep the little ones safe from unexpected trips down the stairs! Come and check it out.  Our huge thanks to Sophie and Josh Roberts and Scott & Natalie Snaddon for designing, making and installing it. It looks fantastic.

1. Te Korōria – Looking for a Cook

Do you know anyone who might be interested in working with an amazing team, in a fun filled environment, supporting the community and beyond?
We are looking for someone to work with the Manager and Team as we continue growing TK. The person will join our team to to create exciting cabinet food and an all-day menu. The ideal person will be someone who is a true “Foodie”; organised, passionate, creative and loves customer service. Essential skills are attention to detail, baking skills, excellent food safety and food costing. An appreciation of the needs of our younger customers is also very important.

2. Ministry Administrator

Andrew Lim, our Karori Anglican administrator has sadly resigned due to continuing ill-health arising from a concussion.  Andrews last day of work is the 18th January.  Please do think about anyone you know in your networks who might be suitable for this role and encourage them to apply via email to Office@karorianglican.org.nz.

3.  SMASH – Cleaner

SMASH is looking for a cleaner for 5 afternoons of cleaning – Mon to Fri between 4-6pm.
This would suit one or even two people to share the shifts if that works for them.  Ideally 16 yrs +. Good entry level job to gain work experience PLUS opportunity to be with the children when cleaning duties are completed. Ideal for anyone testing the waters about doing a career in childcare or wanting to get babysitting onto their CV.

Music Team

KAC’s music team are looking to add a few more people (particularly sound techs, guitarists, vocalists, and worship leads) to their team. if you play an instrument and want to get involved, or want to help out with sound engineering for the worship teams, contact John Locker (locker_john@yahoo.co.nz) or Rev Ian Cook (Ian@Karorianglican.org.nz).

We are planning a church picnic to kick off the year. Save the date and we’ll provide further details as the plans take shape.

 


Working Bee – Saturday 27 January – ECEC


This Bee is focusing on ECEC, by improving the Bark Chip area and Sand in the sandpit.  Join in with ECEC staff and parents from the centre to help move sand down to the grounds and spread it inplace.
Come along and enjoy a time of working together and getting to know some of the ECEC Whanau.  If carrying heavy things is not possible for you – perhaps you might be able to provide a morning tea snack!  Whether you can come for 30mins to help or 3hrs, all would be apreciated.  Please let Matt James know if you can help –  matt@stmaryschildcare.org.nz .  Please bring a barrow/rake if you have one and gloves are recommended.  Meet at the Early Childhood Cetnre (which is at the lower level of the Te Whare ō Mere Building).

Te Korōria Courtyard

Our valiant lawn team has worked hard over the past weeks to level and seed the Te Korōria courtyard. It is now a beautiful emerald green and should be ready for summer activities mid-Feb.  Our huge thanks to Garry the Gardner for his expertise and hours of work, as well as the multiple volunteers who have put in hours of heavy lifting and digging to get to this point!

  • use any homegrown surplus produce that those with green fingers might have to share! – e.g. Lemons, courgettes, plums etc.

Wreath Making Workshop

The wreath making event just before Christmas was a real success. Thanks to those who came along. If you know anyone with a particular skill that they could demonstrate to others so that they can make something at the end of an evening or series of evenings – please let Ruth know (021834576).

Room Available

A room will become available in The Vicarage residence in January 2024. It is a large single room with internet provided and power bill shared among the flatmates. Rent is $215 weekly.
If you know of anyone who might be interested, please ask them to contact the office.
